QuikStix are a step up on traditional training batons, allowing the trainer to measure the client’s striking speed and accuracy during boxing training. The LDR (light deficiency resistor) positioned underneath the target records accurate strikes in real time as the strike counter is set to a predetermined time limit. This will allow the trainer to monitor improvements in the boxer’s performance over time.

I am a fan of Mauy Thai training for fitness and wanted to find a way to track my progress.

Why Quik Stix?
A comparison between traditional focus pads and speed batons.
The boxer needs to use more control when training with batons. The target area is much smaller than focus pads and hits have to be landed lightly. This puts the attention on speed and accuracy and makes the batons much easier on the trainer's shoulders, which often become tired and/or injured when catching hard hits for extended periods.

Prototype built with microbit processors and external count display.
